YUMMY LEMON TART

i would love to spend a weekend in maine with
INA GARTEN.
when tyler was younger
he loved watching her show
BAREFOOT CONTESSA
i was watching her show the other day
her menu was;
grown up mac and cheese
mixed greens w/ balsalmic dressing and
this yummy lemon tart.
i am in the mood for comfort food
with it still being chilly outside.
i am going to test this menu on the fam this week.

BURGER ANYONE?

can you believe this?
IN-N-OUT BURGER opened in Orem today
all of my children found there way to have their first Utah
IN-N-OUT BURGER
it will be so great
on those days when we are CRAVING an IN-N-OUT BURGER
that we can drive and get one.

BROWN PAPER BAG APPLE PIE

had a family golf tournament/dinner tonight
my assignment was to bring dessert
needed to make this apple pie before summer ended
this is a no-fail apple pie recipe, thought i would share
Crust:11/2 c. flour, 1 tsp. salt, 2 Tbls. milk, 11/2 tsp. sugar,1/2 c. veg. oil
Combine all above ingredients. Mix until blended. Pat in bottom and sides of pie pan. Do not roll mixture out.
Filling: 5 c. sliced/peeled granny smith apples. Toss apples with 1/2 c. sugar, 1/2 tsp. nutmeg,
2Tbls. flour and 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Topping: 3/4 c. flour, 3/4 c. sugar, 1/2 c. softened butter. Combine ingredients until crumbly and sprinkle over top of apples.
Place in brown paper bag, fold and seal with stapler. Bake at 350* for 1 hour 45 minutes.
Enjoy. Enjoy. Serve with ice cream.

NEW RESTAURANT FIND

hope you all had a great weekend
after a successful and tiring garage sale on Saturday,
i had recently read about a great little cafe
CAFE FRESCO
in salt lake city, 15th and 15th
jeff and i headed up there in the evening,
enjoyed a nice relaxing, yummy dinner on the patio
the bruschetta sampler was fabulous
jeffs, raspberry Italian soda was refreshing
highly recommended
there was also in this area
a french Paris Bistro,
hoping to hit that before the warm summer evenings are gone.

4th of July Treat

i just left Williams-Sonoma where i tasted a great treat
2c. lemon-lime margarita mix to 1 can sweetened condensed milk
mix up in your freezer ice cream maker
YUMMY, YUMMY, YUMMY
they also have a mango mix that you use the same way
looks like i found my treat for the 4th BBQ with the family
